Sitka Youth Leadership Committee

I’ve been working with the Sitka Youth Leadership Committee, a group of youth leaders from the three high schools in Sitka, since 2015. Each year, I join SYLC at their after-school meetings and work with the students and their program coordinators to conceptualize and implement a media campaign on a topic that is important to the teens. 

We have discussions about purpose, audience, goals, and how to measure the success of the campaigns. I’ve worked with SYLC to create campaigns about healthy relationships and teen dating violence, gender, mental health, and more. 

I created these illustrations as part of a poster series exploring topics around masculinity & gender expression.

SYLC is coordinated by Sitkans Against Family Violence.
